Finalised Draft of the Urban Design Framework

Gillespies have produced the Urban Design Framework for Barrhead town centre. The framework is the first outcome of the various community events that were held throughout 2007 and 2008 (see Community Spaces page for more information). It provides design guidance for the landscaping and setting of key developments within Barrhead town centre and hopefully reflects what has been discussed with those who have worked with us thus far.

The Urban Design Framework was approved by cabinet in May of this year and is now official Council policy. The principles established in the document will now be used to inform the design of all future Public Spaces project.

The document is sizeable and as such, we thought it would not be practical to post a copy to everybody on the Public Spaces database.
